BCB Sport News
Football
It has been another good week for our footballers as they prepare for the start of their GBAC season over the next few weeks. This week our U15s, U13s and U11s played in friendly matches against Patana. Well done to all the players who took part and special mention to Tatar, Molly S, and Proon who were named as Player of the Match for their teams.
Basketball
Well done to our U15 basketball players who started their GBAC campaigns this week with games against GIS. Both teams played well throughout and special well done to Au and Ping Ping P who received the Player of the Match nominations for their performances on the court.
Pupil Successes
Well done to Bene (Year 8) who has been working hard on her horse riding over the break. Bene competed in the President’s Dressage Cup in July and the Thailand Dressage Championship in August. She did exceptionally well and won trophies and ribbons in both events! Well done, Bene!
Well done also to Kat and Eeva Cooper, who last weekend competed in a trail running event at the Koh Larn Run for Kids 2025. Both girls worked really hard on this tough course and completed it in good times, a special well done to Kat who finished 3rd in her age bracket!
We have now launched our Player of the Week feature this year. This is to celebrate two players each week who have shown all the values we look for in our athletes. These players are celebrated in assembly and awarded house points for their nomination. This week our players of the week are:
Au (Year 9)
Au was nominated by Coach Walker for outstanding basketball performance this week, controlling the pace of the game well and showing a continued level of excellent sportsmanship throughout.
Molly (Year 8)
Molly was nominated by Coach Smart for showing great tenacity in defence and an outstandingly positive attitude throughout a really tough game.
New Sports Kit
Please make sure you have ordered your child’s new football and basketball kit from INUS. All players must compete in the new kit, the previous kit can be worn for CCAs. There is a very limited number of spare kits to lend out. If we run out, your child may miss out on playing that day. Please note; players wanting to wear t-shirts under their basketball jersey must purchase the correct colour training jersey. Other colour under-shirts will not be permitted.
Coming up next week
Good luck to our U9A boys football team who compete at STA in the Flames tournament this weekend. There is more football next week with the U9s on Monday and U11s next Friday. There is also more basketball next week with the senior teams competing in GBAC matches and the return of the netball programme with the U18s playing SHR on Monday. Next week is also National Fitness Day, where our prep pupils will be taking part in a series of fitness challenges in their houses!
