Message from Nick Gallop, Head Master
As we reach the end of another remarkable academic year at Brighton College Bangkok, we can take a moment to reflect on all that we have shared and achieved together.
The year began on the highest of notes with outstanding public examination results last August, a testament to the commitment and talent of our pupils and staff. That same spirit of excellence continued as we were named British International School of the Year soon after - a recognition of the strength and depth of our academic and co-curricular life, our commitment to the holistic experience we provide for our pupils and the vibrant community we have built together.
Throughout the year, it has been great to see so many of our young people come together to compete, collaborate and create. We have had many productions and performances in the theatre, trips, talks, tournaments and so much more. The Winter Fair in Term 1 brought thousands to the school and the Festival of Swimming in Term 2 saw over 600 competitors take to the pool in a celebration of sport, teamwork and personal bests. We again hosted the largest Model United Nations Conference in South East Asia with over 800 pupils and advisors from across the region and beyond – a powerful display of diplomacy, leadership and global awareness from our pupils. And of course, the Brighton College International Friendly Games welcomed young athletes from across the world, in a spirit of competition and camaraderie that brought our school to life.
More recently, we were delighted to welcome pupils from the Wang Yai School, deepening the connections between our school and our wider community. This visit was a vivid reminder of the importance of compassion, perspective and partnership in all that we do. In the last week alone, we have seen an incredible run of celebrations and events. The Year 6 production of Pirates of the Curry Bean was a joyful triumph of storytelling, energy and talent – huge congratulations to every pupil involved and sincere thanks to the staff who supported them so generously. The Senior School Formal was another highlight last Saturday – full of laughter, dancing and memories made with friends.
This week, we have celebrated the Year 6 Graduation, our Prep and Senior School Awards Ceremonies, and, most poignantly, our Year 13 Graduation. It is hard to overstate how much this departing Year 13 has given to the College – academically, in leadership, in sport, service and the arts. We are proud of them, grateful to them, and we send them on their way with confidence and every good wish.
As we close the year, I would like to thank our wonderful staff for their tirelessness and care for every child, and you – our parents – for your trust, support, and encouragement throughout the year.
Wishing you all a restful, safe and happy summer. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in August for another exciting year ahead.
Best wishes,
Nick Gallop
Head Master
Last night it was one of our biggest nights of the year: Graduation. Our graduating Class of 2025 celebrated in style, walking down the red carpet, to mark their final day at Brighton College Bangkok. It was a heartfelt ceremony with guest speaker Khun Nusara, as well as Mr Gallop and Mrs Peat, taking to the stage to share their wonderful memories of our leaving Year 13 cohort, as well as share words of wisdom for the future. It was a wonderful opportunity for our graduating Year 13 pupils to celebrate their achievements with their parents, families and teachers, as well as some of our visiting alumni. WIth sound advice of being the best version of yourself, and embodying our ethos of confidence, kindness and curiosity, we wish our graduating Class of 2025 the very best for their bright futures. Congratulations!

On Wednesday afternoon our Year 6 pupils had their Graduation ceremony, marking their transition from the Preparatory School to the Senior School. The ceremony was a chance for pupils and their teachers to reflect on their wonderful achievements, progress and memories from this year as well as from their time in the Prep School. Pupils and their families were also able to look forward to what will be the next step in their school journey. All of our Year 6 pupils received a Graduation certificate and t-shirt and performed an encore from their production, Pirates of the Curry Bean. Following the ceremony, pupils had a special pizza party and disco. We wish all our Year 6 pupils the very best with their next adventure.
On Monday, Reception to Year 6 gathered together for the final Pelican Pathway Awards assembly. We celebrated the outstanding achievements of pupil throughout the year. Awards were presented in three key areas: Progress, recognising personal and academic growth; Participation, acknowledging enthusiastic and confident involvement in school activities; and Partnerships, celebrating teamwork, community spirit and kindness. A heartfelt thank you also goes to our talented musical performers, whose wonderful contributions added a special touch to the occasion.

Our KS3 End of Year Awards Assembly was a fantastic celebration of the school community and everything we've achieved together. The event began with awards from the Music Department showcasing pupil talent and dedication. Each year group had pupil volunteers deliver thoughtful round-ups, reflecting on key moments and highlights from the past year. A fun part of the assembly was the “Most Likely To…” awards, where winners from each year group in KS3 were presented with medals for categories that pupils voted for which captured their unique personalities and contributions. It was a great way to end the year on a high, with laughter, and a strong sense of community spirit.

The Year 6 to Year 7 transition from Prep to Senior School has been a hugely successful and positive experience for our pupils. They have handled the change with maturity, enthusiasm, and curiosity, showing great adaptability as they stepped into the next stage of their school journey. Throughout the week, they’ve taken part in a range of engaging activities, including exciting house competitions, team-building treasure hunts, and taster lessons that offered a real glimpse into life as a Year 7. This transition has not only helped them build confidence and friendships but also given them a valuable insight into what to expect in Senior School.

Year 7 Get Creative with Cubism
Year 7 pupils have been exploring the fascinating world of Cubism in their recent art project. After studying the groundbreaking work of artists Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque, they created their own multi-point still life drawings, experimenting with different viewpoints and fragmented forms. Using a combination of acrylic paint, pastel, pencil, and collage, pupils produced bold and imaginative Cubist artworks. Their final pieces show a strong understanding of the style and a creative approach to colour, shape, and composition—well done, Year 7!
These pieces are by Pim, Erin, Nirin, Nice, First, Molly C, Reesa and Tao

This week, we celebrated our Bright Start graduates as we concluded our Parent and Toddler sessions for the year.
It’s been a joy watching these little learners grow, and we’re thrilled that so many of our Bright Starters will be joining us in Pre-Nursery next year!
We’re also looking forward to introducing an exciting new variety of sessions for families in our community—more opportunities to connect, explore, and thrive together.

This week our Year 11 pupils have been participating in a range of work experience opportunities. Pupils have experienced the world of work in different industries from education, finance, business, medicine and much more. One group of pupils interested in business had the opportunity to gain experience at I.P. One Co., Ltd, which specializes in manufacturing, distributing, and marketing household FMCG products. Our pupils spent time learning about the different areas of the business from marketing to finance and even had the opportunity to produce their own presentation after attending a new product development workshop. We are really grateful to Mr Thanesvorakul and his team for facilitating such an impactful placement for our pupils and all parents that have offered opportunities this year.
Year 5 Explore Perspective Drawing
Year 5 pupils have been learning how designers use perspective drawing to create a sense of depth in their work. They explored the principles of one-point perspective and practised applying this technique in their space-inspired designs. Pupils showed great creativity and focus as they brought their imagined worlds to life, gaining valuable drawing skills along the way.
Here are some examples from: Harper, Munich, Iron, Winner, Anya, Olivia and Ben

As part of our Graduation Week, our Year 13 pupils went to Dreamworld on Tuesday to celebrate their final few days of school together. A lot of fun was had, especially trying to drag Mr Angus on the scary rides! It was a fun filled day and a lovely way to celebrate the end of the Year 13s time at Brighton College Bangkok.

On Tuesday, 24th June, pupils in the Preparatory School enjoyed a Transition Morning.
Whilst many aspects of transition involve continuity, there are also some changes. Transitioning within the College can be a daunting experience for both pupils and parents, as it brings elements of uncertainty. However, great care is always taken to ensure that pupils are provided with new opportunities and the best possible environment for their learning and development to succeed.
Although significant time and preparation go into the transition process, it is not viewed as a one-off event. This occasion marked the first time pupils gathered in their new classes for the upcoming academic year. As most of the Preparatory School teaching staff are returning, many pupils were able to meet their new teacher, make new friends, and discover the location and sea creature-themed name of their new class.
For those pupils whose teacher has not yet joined the school, a video introduction provided an opportunity to learn a little about them in advance.

The Senior School awards yesterday was another wonderful occasion to celebrate so many of our pupils and their achievements! Well done to the many award winners. We were also treated to an excellent performance from the College's orchestra - fabulous rendition of the theme from Top Gun. Thank you particularly to K Pisanu, former Thai Ambassor to the United Kingdom, who spoke our core values and the opporunities and challenges ahead for our pupils.

The Preparatory End of Year Awards ceremony was a joyful celebration of our pupils' achievements and character. Head of School and Headmaster Awards were presented to pupils from Reception to Year 6 who have consistently shown high levels of effort, academic progress, and a strong commitment to school life. These pupils truly embody the Brighton College values of Curiosity, Confidence and Kindness. House Ties were awarded by the Heads of House in recognition of pupils’ contributions to Chichester, Fenwick, Hampden and Ryle. A special congratulations to Fenwick, who were crowned the 2024–2025 Preparatory House Champions. The ceremony also featured uplifting performances from the Key Stage 1 and 2 Choirs and ended on a high note with a whole-school sing-along of ‘Moving Along’, written by Mrs Hartley-Smith.

Pen-Portraits New Staff for 2025/26 Academic Year
Samuel Ricotti-Ottmann -
Teacher of Science
I’m a science teacher with a love for biology, the outdoors, and helping students grow both in and out of the classroom. I’ve worked across a mix of British state, independent, and international schools, and I always aim to make science feel exciting, relevant, and accessible for everyone. I’m especially passionate about creating engaging lessons, supporting students’ wellbeing, and getting involved in wider school life.
Alongside teaching, I’ve been lucky to lead some amazing enrichment programmes – from the Duke of Edinburgh Award to ecological clubs and real-world learning projects. I enjoy building strong relationships with students and seeing them thrive not just academically, but personally too.
Outside of school, I’m a big fan of endurance and team sports, exploring nature, and any chance to head off the beaten path. Whether it’s hiking, running, or discovering new places, I’m always up for a challenge and believe in the power of adventure to build resilience and perspective – something I try to bring into my teaching too.
I’m really excited to be joining Brighton College Bangkok – it’s a fantastic opportunity to be part of a vibrant, ambitious school community. I’m looking forward to getting stuck in, connecting with the students and staff, and embracing everything this new adventure has to offer.
